A Sunday in Sag Harbor
There are so many different villages of the Hamptons that you can explore. One that I really love, but haven’t frequented much, is the little seaside town of Sag Harbor.
I thought this was just a small fishing village, in a quieter part of town. But there is so much life to it, especially down by the wharf!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it here. I’ve passed through a few times, stopped and had lunch with Ryan at Baron’s Cove once, but I didn’t explore the shops and village until September.
On the way home from Montauk a few friends and I planned to grab brunch and walk around town. There was a lot to see! In previous encounters I thought the town seemed really small, and now I realize I must have only been in one area of it. It was lovely getting to pop into shops, and taking note of restaurants I want to try on future visits!
If you haven’t been before, and are looking for a different kind of weekend in the Hamptons, this is a great location to stay! It’s not as far as Montauk, it’s close to harbors and several vineyards, and only one bridge away from Shelter Island.
Exploring Town + Shops
I think I’ve said it 10 times already, but this town is adorable. There is a great main street, and it has pretty much everything you would need: shops and antique stores, a market, pharmacy, plenty of variety in restaurants, a range of clothing boutiques and more.
The town reminds me of home, with a nice centralized community. I picture people frequenting their favorite spots, bumping into neighbors as they run their errands, and knowing when you go to dinner on Main you’ll probably see someone you know!
There are lots of great stores in town to check out! You can find a nice variety of shops in Sag Harbor, whether you are looking for chic boutiques, small boho businesses, or some loved brandnames.
