Restaurant Spotlight: 12 Chairs
If you love a buzzing brunch vibe or upbeat dinner then you should definitely check out 12 Chairs Cafe in Williamsburg! They are serving up some amazing Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine, super shareable plates, and a heavy pour on the drinks! It’s cool and fun, but unlike a lot of those kinds of restaurants, the food here is actually delicious.
Location
There is a Manhattan location, but I love the spot on Wythe in Brooklyn. It’s a central area to access everything else in Williamsburg, and close to bars, restaurants, and shops to explore.
I’m dying to visit Tel Aviv someday, and this restaurant is all about giving an experience that makes you feel as if you are in Israel. Love that journey for me..
Menu
The food is like Mediterranean cuisine, but with it’s own twist.
The dishes are great for sharing, sort of like tapas, and it’s a larger portion than you would anticipate! My friend Carly and I got the 4 plates so we could sample different dishes, as well as the roasted cauliflower, and we couldn’t even come close to finishing the food. Everything we tasted was so flavorful and delicious! And the prices are very reasonable.
The pita is literally flown in fresh from Israel and baked on-site… so you just know it’s good.
If you need any more convincing (and I’m shocked if you do) there is an amazing selection of Israeli wines, all from boutique vineyards. I enjoyed a few glasses of a white one with a long German name! It had heavenly notes of peach, and it was fantastic and refreshing.
Highly recommend a visit, so hope you check it out! Enjoy :)
