West Village Charm

West Village is probably my favorite neighborhood in NYC. I love the individual character of every building, and the charming brownstones and townhomes.

There are so many small and private parks, more green trees lining the streets, and it just seems to be more clean and quaint than other neighborhoods. Everyone else agrees which is why this is one of the most expensive areas to live, and it’s a treat to be there just steps from the action.

I’m always going out of my way to spend time there, often riding a bike to the neighborhood and walking home hours later with several shopping bags and a full belly.

Tuesday we were given a company holiday and the opportunity for an extra long weekend. Unfortunately it’s also my finals week in grad school, and with several finals and presentations I didn’t get much time to rest. But the moment I finished my work on Tuesday, I made my way over for an enjoyable and active afternoon strolling through West Village.

Here are a few of my favorite snaps of the neighborhood:

Magnolia Bakery

The OG Magnolia bakery, where my friends and I would travel from Westchester at 15 to get some of their delicious cupcakes. We’d eat in the park across the street, then go shopping at the Marc Jacobs store on Bleeker. Passing by this closed up shop …

LoveShack Fancy

I love their product but had only been in the store once before! It was extra fun trying on some engagement party dresses here :)

Great Outdoor Dining

I haven’t been here before but I added Jajaja Mexican to my list when I passed by this adorable dining set up. Cute and tropical, vegetarian, and plenty of seating on a quiet street where you won’t be sitting in the exhaust from busses passing by.

I love exploring this area, especially now that more retail and restaurants are reopening! It always makes for a perfect afternoon.
