The Best Delivery Gift Ideas, Gift Boxes, & Care Packages
During a year where we can’t always be together, we sometimes have to get creative to show our love from far away.
I’ve always loved birthdays, holidays, and occasions to buy the people that matter to me presents. I often have an idea in mind when I’m shopping for someone… a common interest usually, or something I know they love. I do enjoy thinking of options, but sometimes I can get stuck! Especially for people that I’ve bought gifts for over and over again like my family, or Ryan. We all need a little inspiration sometimes!
But this year was different. We have all had to miss moments that matter - milestone birthday celebrations, engagements, funerals, weddings, and countless other events. Under other circumstances these occasions would involve gathering together, hugging, dancing, laughing, crying, and a whole lot of feelings and emotions that could be expressed simply by BEING THERE. But, in 2020, this is often reduced to words.
Texting “Congratulations!!!” Calling a family member to check in when things are tough. Celebrating a birthday over Zoom. Even sending a card to say that you’re so sorry for someone’s loss.
Sometimes words just aren’t enough…
There are so many happy moments worth celebrating, and there are plenty of ways to your love no matter the distance!
Here are some options that I rely on that will hopefully inspire you next time you want to send something special!

There are so many companies who do this really well. Here are a few, starting with several I’ve used myself (or received) and really loved!

A Bouquet of Blooms
Flowers never fail to brighten my day, and I’m always so touched when I receive them from a loved one. It’s sweet for an anniversary, valentines day, mothers day, a housewarming gift, you name it. Flowers are never a bad idea when you aren’t sure what else to get someone! And if you can’t bring them as a gift for someone personally, then there are tons of services that deliver them for you! Here are some different options!
I’ve personally been using Ode A La Rose for deliveries in the NYC area, they deliver fresh beautiful bouquets not only in Manhattan but also to Hoboken and BK too! They always arrive in great condition, and you can even send a custom photo with your note.
Another reliable option for this area is Urban Stems - an expert in city deliveries.
For deliveries to the suburbs there are a few options I trust such as From You Flowers and the Country Flowers Selection from Amazon.
For the most beautiful flowers with the best presentation you have to go for Farmgirl Flowers! They now deliver across the US.
If you are looking to SPLURGE then go with Venus ET Fleur
Ship some Bubbly!
Sometimes the perfect gift is a celebratory bottle of champagne, or a special bottle of wine you know the person likes!
Here are some options for alcohol delivery. Be sure to check the restrictions in each state as liquor laws might prevent certain companies from delivering to the destination.
Drizly: Lots of options to choose from which is why they are the best. Whether you are casually refilling your home bar or sending a gift to someone, Drizly is fast and reasonably priced.
Reserve Bar: This has access to limited edition champagne and liquor delivery, and you can even do custom engravings!
Select Something it Meaningful
Showing someone you care about them can come in many different ways and forms. It isn’t about how much money you spend on someone… but that’s not just to say “it’s the thought that counts.”
It’s about about showing someone that you listen to them, and from your conversations you remembered this is something enjoy, or that has meaning to them. That is what says you know them well, that you remembered something special.
Make it Sweet!
Is there a better way to someones heart than food? Here are some of my favorite
Goldbelly - You can now select from plenty of special options like artisanal foods from across the US ranging from restaurants to bakeries! I’m talking deep dish pizza’s from Chicago, Angel Food Bakery’s word donuts from Minneapolis, and chicken parm pizza from Quality Italian, a Lobster dinner from Maine… the sky is really the limit here. So you can pick something super personal and special
If all else fails, there are always sweets <3
Baked By Melissa - mini cupcake assortments, with fun seasonal collections
Milk Bar - sweet cookies, layer cakes, and cake truffles
Levain Bakery - huge chunky chocolate chip cookies
Sugarfina - cutest customized candies
This is one of my favorite things to send, and these days the options have definitely expanded!
When you can’t be there, these are great ways to show that you still care.
After we got engaged we received so many sweet deliveries, from bouquets of flowers to huge balloon arrangements, and delicious chocolate-covered strawberries. I was so touched, and it made me feel the love from all those I couldn’t celebrate with at the time. It’s the things like that you won’t forget when you look back at the past year.
SO, what are your other gift-giving go-to’s?
